Purpose and main goal of the project is to empower the capacities of already existing NWC and to increase its influence in local community in the fields of formal and informal education, economic empowerment of deprivileged women, incouraging the role of women in local authorities, awareness-rising about sexual and reproductive health, human rights and women’s rights.

Specific goals:
1: To establish a long-lasting relationship/cooperation with different agencies or tourism service providers and projects dealing with responsible community based tourism (RCBT) and improve, upgrade and expand the activities of RCBT which can provide an income on the long-term and to increase knowledge about this field in the local community.
2: Encouraging and training women from the local community for the activities which could improve their economic and social status and also living conditions for their children (sewing/tailoring course, cooking and catering service, gardening and producing vegetables, etc.)
3: Encouraging formal and implementation of informal education and gender inequality reduction
4: Increased visibility and influence of NWC in local community and broader

Target groups:
- NWC
- Women from the local community
- NWC members’ children and children from the local community in general
- Local authorities and the entire local community
- Visitors, tourists, volunteers
- International, Rwandan and Slovenian public

Activities related to economic empowerment and trainings for income-generating activities:
a) Tailoring/sewing course for local women (including purchase of sewing machines, fabrics and other needed material)
b) Cooking and catering service training for local women (including purchase of dishes, cookers and other needed equipment)
c) Encouraging local women to use NWC land as a garden and grow vegetables (purchase of seeds, plants, growing vegetables for their own use or for selling it at the local market)

Activities of encouraging formal education and implementation of informal education:
a) Continuation of the English course for local women
b) Continuation of the Literacy course for local women
c) Preparation and implementation of the training on sexual and reproductive health, birth-control and family planning for local women and girls
d) Preparation and implementation of creative workshops for children from local community
e) Fundraising for NWC members and children (for school fees)

Activities for increasing the visibility and influence of NWC in local community and broader:
a) Maintaining and updating the website http://www.nwc-kigali.org/
b) Additional dissemination of the documentary film (which was produced within the previous project) if needed,
c) Preparation and printing NWC materials (NWC brochures, leaflets, T-shirts, bags, book-marks, personal cards, etc.)
d) Study visit – representative of NWC going to Kampala to visit Sunny Skies Women's Project – maintaining relationships, exchange of experience, comparison of working plans of both groups, options and ideas for further cooperation, etc.

Project management activities
a) Fluent management and coordination (day-to-day management),
b) Maintenance and management of the local NWC office,
c) Monitoring, evaluations,
d) Reporting,
e) External revision/evaluation at the end of the project.
