Reading Cultures in the Newly Established Publishing Conditions: Empirical Findings, Analysis of Situation, and Proposals for the Develpoment of Publishing Policies
Purpose and goals:
The goal of this research is to show, based on empirical evidence, to what extent publishimg that is a subject of market rules, fulfils the need for books viewed as objects of national importance. At the same time we are going to analyse the strategies of non-profit and subsidised publishing programmes. Finally, we are going to compare these findings with distribution patterns and reading popularity, especially in connection to purchase and perusal in public libraries.
