“Journalism Evenings” are monthly gatherings with international participation dedicated to journalism and the media. The goal is to promote journalistic profession as a serious, difficult, responsible, and only occasionally attractive occupation. The gatherings are hosted by Ksenija Horvat, the journalist for the foreign affairs program department at TV Slovenia. The target audience are journalists and students of journalism, as well as the general public. The participants have opportunity to exchange experiences, opinions and knowledge with foreign invited experts and journalists. The discussions include issues pertaining to the journalist’s profession, media operation, media freedom, laws and market. The evenings are also aimed at enhancing solidarity among journalists. In combination with other projects of the Center for Media Policy, the evenings contribute to the implementation of the highest standards of journalism in Slovenia and to the development of the professional community.
