The Humanities and Social Sciences on the Periphery: Sciences or Technocratic Instruments?

A group of researchers from Central and South East European countries (Austria, Bulgaria, Montenegro and Slovenia) have examined present conditions of research in the humanities and social sciences in the region, and the effects these conditions may be producing upon scientific practices. The researchers share the concern about the marginalisation of the region in the production of knowledge and about the impact the research in these fields may exercise upon society.
