Janja Vuga Beršnak, PhD
Assistant Professor at the University of Ljubljana, a research fellow at the Defence Research Centre and a secretary at the Ministry of Defence. She has been researching cross-cultural relations in peace operations, work/life balance in the military, children in military families and gender issues in the military. A great share of her research was carried out among service-members in the field (e.g. TChad/CAR, UNIFIL, KFOR). For her work she received an European Cooperation in Science and Technology (COST) scholarship. Currently she is a member of the NATO HFM 258 research group (researching impact of peace operations on children in military families).
The project focuses on fathers in precarious forms of employment and fathers at managerial positions at the point of work-life balance, and addresses employers with implementation of ‘fathers-friendly’ measures...
The monograph tackles problematic relations between the labour market and fatherhood.
