According to this internal instruction (which is still valid), during legitimation the police officers, discovering that a person is without arranged legal status in Slovenia, are obliged to verify whether this person applied for a permanent residence permit. If they discover that the application has been filed, in accordance with this instruction this person could not be detained in the Aliens Centre or deported.
