CARE for a fair, green, and democratic future
The consortium partners operate in interconnected fields of social justice, democracy, climate action, nature conservation, and environmental protection, and identify the following common challenges: how to strengthen awareness and knowledge among target audiences about complex social, economic, and environmental issues and their global interdependence in the context of rising intolerance and disinformation; how to reach target groups more effectively and communicate democratic values and scientific findings on complex problems more successfully in an environment marked by the growth of authoritarian populism, public polarization, and various forms of discrimination; how to strengthen advocacy and encourage active citizenship in order to achieve systemic changes in the areas of operation of the consortium partners; and how to ensure access to additional financial resources and strengthen the human-resources and organizational stability of the consortium partners.
Based on these challenges, the consortium has defined four strategic objectives: to bring complex social, economic, and environmental challenges closer to target audiences through effective communication; to introduce holistic approaches for a more critically thinking society and greater active citizenship; to strengthen the influence of civil society in achieving systemic change; and to develop sustainable strategies and models of (co)operation.
