Visit of a representative of the Ukrainian NGO Right to Protection

At the Peace Institute, we hosted Valeria Sekisova, a representative of the Ukrainian NGO Right to Protection. In Slovenia, as the coordinator of the program for economic resilience and early recovery in the mentioned organization, she participated in an international meeting, while the visit to our institute was intended to discuss experiences and contacts in the countries of the former Yugoslavia regarding post-war recovery. We touched on the post-war challenges for the functioning of democratic and independent institutions, as well as examples of the post-war functioning of civil society and the media, as well as independent cultural production for building peace as a permanent effort for a just society. We agreed on the continuation of the exchange of knowledge and information at a distance and on the search for opportunities for more permanent cooperation between the Right to Protection and related non-governmental organizations in Slovenia and other countries in the region.
