5th Citizen Panel of the Parliament for the Future of Europe project took place in Prague

On 15 October, the 5th Citizen Panel of the Parliament for the Future of Europe project took place in Prague. All six partners of the project brought together a diverse group of participants to discuss proposals on »EU in the world«, resulting from the first public assembly on European Union level »Conference on the Future of Europe«.

Through active participation methods and group work, participants discussed reducing the EU’s dependence on foreign actors in economically strategic sectors and in the field of energy, defining standards within and outside the EU in the areas of trade, investment and environmental policies. In the light of the current situation, the area of the EU’s role in peace-building and security provided a space for constructive debate.

The last, sixth “Citizens’ Panel” will take place on 14 March 2024 in Ljubljana, hosted by the Peace Institute, focusing on »European democracy«. Those interested can already register for the event, with more information to follow in the coming months.
