Problems and Visions in Social Care

Conference14 September 2016 – 15 September 2016 | City Hotel, Ljubljana

You are kindly invited to the international conference Problems and Visions in Social Care, which will be held on Wednesday 14th and Thursday 15th of September at the premises of City hotel (Dalmatinova ulica 15) in Ljubljana.

The conference aims at presentation and exchange of current research and reflections in the field of care politics and regimes in connection to changing welfare systems, equality, impacts on women’s position and trends towards privatization and globalization of care work. Researchers from diverse European Union countries as well as broader, from Russia, Serbia, Argentina and Canada will participate at the conference.

Key note lectures will be given by Helma Lutz (Goethe University Frankfurt-Am-Main), Eleonora Kofman (Middlesex University London), Martha Szebehely (Stockholm University) and Bernhard Weicht (University of Innsbruck).

Program

The conference is organised by the Peace Institute in cooperation with the University of Ljubljana – Faculty of Social Work within the framework of the fundamental research project ‘Care Work between Individualization, Socialization and Globalization’ and is supported by Slovenian National Research Agency.
